A place where you can be you
At Bupa, we’re a team of unique individuals connected by one shared purpose – and a little blue cube with a big heart. When you join us, you become part of a culture built for everyone.
We’re committed to creating an environment where all voices, experiences and backgrounds are valued. It’s not about ticking boxes; it’s about genuine inclusion and helping every person feel supported, respected and able to thrive.
When you feel like you belong, you can bring your full potential – and your own shine – to a culture we’re proud to build together.
Because the future belongs to us all
With an emphasis on inclusive leadership, our commitment to belonging starts from the top. We welcome like-minded people who share our vision to create an inspiring and transformative environment where people from diverse backgrounds will flourish and shape our future. This way, we will continue to build a community for all and a culture that we can all celebrate every day.
Tangata Whenua
As you’d expect, we have a strong and ongoing focus on our commitments under the Treaty Of Waitangi (Te Tiriti O Waitangi) to Māori and we do this through authentic partnerships, active participation, and inclusivity practices.
A place where everyone belongs
Be you at Bupa isn’t a slogan, it’s how we work.
We’re committed to building a culture where all voices are heard, respected and valued. Inclusion at Bupa is about creating an environment where people feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive.
When people feel they truly belong, they do their best work. And when our people thrive, so do our customers, patients, residents and communities.
That’s why we focus on:
- Creating inclusive and flexible workplaces
- Removing barriers to opportunity
- Celebrating difference and lived experience
- Supporting wellbeing, growth and connection
Because when purpose meets possibility, everyone benefits.
LGBTQ+ Inclusion
Bupa cares about creating and sustaining an inclusive workplace for LGBTQ+ employees where team members feel they belong regardless of gender identity, including how one chooses to express it, and sexual orientation.
Some of the ways that Bupa supports the community includes;
- Membership with Pride in Diversity
- Ongoing inclusion and allyship training
- The Pride Employee Advocacy Group acknowledges and celebrates annual days of significance for the LGBTQ+ community such as IDAHOBIT and Wear it Purple Day with a range of internal events and opportunities.
Our employee networks reflecting our community
At Bupa, we have diverse employee networks; The Pride Network for LGBTQ+ employees and allies, and The Access and Inclusion Network – for employees with lived experience of disability and their allies.
Employee advocacy groups
Our Employee Advocacy Groups are safe, supportive communities where people with lived experience — and allies — come together to connect, share and influence change.
Our groups include:
- Pride at Bupa — for LGBTQ+ employees and allies
- AccessAbility — for employees with disability, carers and allies
- WIN Women at Bupa — for women, those who identify as non-binary and allies
These networks help shape policy, improve experiences and ensure inclusion is lived every day, not just talked about.
