Shaping the future of independent living
Bupa’s purpose of helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives is what guides every moment of care in our Villages, and something you’ll see, feel, and shape every day. Bupa NZ has 35 retirement villages across New Zealand, with different options to support independent living.
No matter your role, you’ll make a meaningful impact through our person-first approach; and you won’t do it alone. We’re a close-knit, supportive team that looks out for each other, even on the busiest days.
We’re equally committed to your growth. Across our Villages and the wider Bupa network, you’ll find the support, tools, and pathways to build the career you want — from developing new skills to stepping into leadership or exploring different roles across healthcare.
Retirement villages are full of people with stories, lessons, and wisdom; working here has given me a different perspective on life, and encouraged me to not take anything for granted.

Village Coordinator
As a Village Coordinator, you'll play a key role in creating a vibrant, welcoming community where residents feel supported, connected and able to live well. Combining operations, customer service, community engagement and sales, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the village, lead resident events and wellbeing initiatives, build relationships with residents and families, and guide prospective residents through their retirement living journey. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, making a meaningful difference, and helping create a place people are proud to call home.
Village Assistant
As a Village Assistant, you'll help create a warm, welcoming and vibrant community where residents can thrive. Working closely with the Village Coordinator, you'll support daily village operations, organise social activities and events, assist residents with their wellbeing needs, and build meaningful relationships that make a real difference to people's lives. This is a varied, people-focused role for someone who enjoys connecting with others, creating positive experiences, and helping residents get the most out of every day.
Wellbeing Support Assistant
As a Wellbeing Support Assistant, you'll help residents live comfortably, confidently and independently in their own homes. Combining housekeeping, wellbeing support and meaningful companionship, you'll provide practical day-to-day assistance while building trusted relationships with residents. From helping with daily routines and creating welcoming living spaces to offering a friendly conversation and extra support when needed, you'll play an important role in enhancing residents' quality of life and helping them feel at home in their community.
Support Teams
It takes a diverse team to create a thriving village community. Beyond resident support and village operations, opportunities are also available across hospitality, wellbeing and maintenance. Whether you're preparing fresh meals as a Café Cook, creating welcoming experiences as a Barista Café Assistant or Café Manager, or helping keep our villages safe, comfortable and well-maintained as a Maintenance Officer, every role plays an important part in enhancing the everyday lives of our residents. If you're passionate about great service, building connections and making a meaningful difference, you'll find plenty of opportunities to belong and grow in our village communities.
